You paid for the lesson. By Friday, where did it go?
An hour with a tutor is packed with useful language: a correction, a better way to say it, a phrase you'd never have found alone. Then the week happens.
Making cards yourself means replaying the lesson, typing, translating, adding audio. Most people give up, and with several tutors your notes end up everywhere.
Phrases from one lesson, slipping away over a week.
From lesson to cards in three steps
You keep talking to your tutor. Phrasu does the note-taking and the card-making, and you stay in charge of what goes in your deck.
Record or upload your lesson
Record a Zoom or Meet lesson in Chrome or Edge, with your tutor's OK. Or upload a recording or transcript from any lesson.
We pick only what fits your level
Not every word in the lesson: just the phrases that fit where you are now, anywhere from A1 to C2, each with a translation.
You approve every card, then review with audio
Keep, edit or skip each card before it goes in your deck. English on the front, the language you're learning on the back, with clear AI-generated audio. A few minutes a day, spaced so it sticks.

We'll email you when Phrasu opens, and maybe once before with a couple of quick questions. Nothing else.
Questions
Can I use it now?
Not yet. Phrasu is in development. Join the waitlist and we'll email you when it opens; waitlist members get first access.
Which languages, and which levels?
French, Spanish, German and Italian, at any level from A1 to C2, with English on the front of your cards. Other languages aren't available at launch. If you're learning one (for example Japanese, Chinese, Korean or Portuguese), pick it on the form: it counts as a vote for what we add next.
Why not just use ChatGPT and Anki?
You can, and many learners do. Phrasu does the slow parts in one place: capturing the lesson, picking only the phrases at your level, and adding audio. You approve every card, and you can export everything to Anki.
My lessons are on another platform. Can I still use it?
If you can save a recording or a transcript of your lesson (with your tutor's OK), you can upload it. Lessons in a web browser can also be recorded with our Chrome or Edge extension.
Does my tutor need to agree to recording?
Yes. The app will ask you to confirm your tutor's OK before recording, and show when recording is on. If your tutor prefers not to be recorded, you can upload notes or a transcript instead.
Is my lesson data safe?
Lesson audio will be used only to make your cards, deleted once they're made, and never used to train AI. You'll be able to delete your account and data at any time.
Which devices will it work on?
Recording runs in Chrome or Edge on a computer. You'll review cards in the web app on any phone or computer, or in the iPhone app.
